I took my sport-touring bike with fenders, rear rack, trunk bag, dynohub and 1 gallon of Gatorade. My legs were having a terrible day. Heart rate was up for no good reason, short of breath, that sort of stuff. Maybe I need to get my eating done even earlier so my digestive system is completely idle.

Anyway, I was riding with some clubmates and there was a significant spread of speeds among us, so I did some loopback regrouping and also took some crazy-long pulls (think: ~20 minutes), so it was still a healthy workout, but the average speed was a bit low. The parts I did solo, I averaged over 20mph; the parts I did with the group, we averaged ~15mph.
