@repechage Thanks, that's what I wasn't sure of. I would prefer to stick with this size as the smaller ones are too small.

Thanks for pointing that out to me Kurt. I think I just made up the LTD-1 (no idea why, I guess I had a senile moment) because he did say DL-1. The LTD-3 was the economy Sports right?

@Schwinnsta I would assume it was heat treated, other wise why bother to use temperable steel instead of cheaper mild steel? I think cleaning out the old braze and the rust is important to make it sound again, otherwise it will just separate in time. Yea, I think the bolt would hold it fine in normal use but might give out in high speed situations or with any moderate impact.
