I had a chance to mess around with apex and it is definitely a great groupset (and imho almost non-discernible to rival and up... as far as function goes).

Can't really help with the other stuff regarding comfort as I didn't try them (The secteur I did have a go at and it is comfortable), but you can't go wrong with Sram as far as comfort and function go.
