Looks like the perfect time for me to chime in as I'm sure enthalpic will as well.
Fat is an essential part of your diet. It is funny because in many threads I have mentioned rider's lack of attention when it comes to diet. I have also mentioned the importance of protein in any rider's diet.
I think it is great that you are paying more attention to your diet, as many of our members will agree where I have looked at their diet and suggested changes there have been big improvements in performance.

As we all know I am a big guy and do watch diet carefully and this is the only way that I can ride with any success.

I have found that if combine protein with a healthy fat it gives you that fuller feeling much longer.

The most important thing I can recommend is to track what you are actually eating, tough to makes changes unless you know what you have to change.

A couple of nutritional guarantees I can make are (in most cases):
1. You don't eat enough protein
2. You don't drink as much water as you think you do
