OP, if it makes you feel better, i have the same compulsion when somebody passes me too, but if and when i catch them up i never pass. i just stay about 20/30 feet behind and catch my breath, because if i did get out in front again i may not be able to hold them off and THAT would NOT be good.

and if i can't catch them, well, nobody really knows but me.
