Questions:
1) Why does the internet have to be such a crappy craphouse when it comes to buying road bikes online? Google's Shopping tab can conceive of a total of maybe eight places and two of them are scam sites. I can search for "Pinarello" on Google shopping and never find my way to CompetitiveCyclist.com or ColoradoCyclist.com. Am I supposed to use a divining rod to find out where the legit online retail sites are??
2) Speaking more broadly, where are all the new old stock bikes from a year or two ago? I'd think an actual retail bike website *like* ConduitCycle.net would be just the sort of thing we'd have in real life. I mean those bikes didn't sell, new ones are out now, so folks could reasonably have the option for last year's frame with last years group for a bit less. Too much like right?
I made a list of like 10 different bikes I liked at the scam site - it was a handy way to see what I could find in an XL or XXL carbon fiber frame - but of course I can't actually shop for any of them because they're 2011. And I can't shop for the 2012 models because the entire internet (according to Google and Yahoo anyway) doesn't hardly sell road bikes.
3) All *****iness aside, where are some decent sites to shop for new or NOS road bikes? I mean, if I had $3.5k and wanted an XL Kuota Kebel but it had to be online, could I even spend the money?
4) Why can't I search these forums for any domain names? I see folks linking to sites all the time, but any search for "competitivecyclist.com" or "bikesdirect.com" returns the error:
"The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search"
Sorry if I sound cranky. I've had the flu for the past two weeks and a sprained ankle for the past two months.
