Help identifying model and a couple other things

Hey all I just picked up the first road bike I've owned since I was a kid. The mountain bike fad made it impossible to buy a bike in a deparment store and higher end road bikes in shops were always out of my budget. I rode a LOT when I was a kid and always was in decent shape because of it. Having turned 40 and put on more weight than I would like, I've been looking for a decent road bike for a reasonable price (that was also tall enough for me) so I can get back into riding. I finally found one today. I bought a Raleigh for 40 bucks. It needs a little TLC but it's there, the deraileurs and brakes work, etc. The problem I'm having is I can't identify the model. The serial number is on the left side of the seat tube and is JA7 2864. From the serials I've found online, it seems to be an oddball. It has a sticker at the very bottom of the seat tube that says Raleigh Ind of America, Enid, OK. The badge is also not the Raleigh heron badge that I've seen. It's a stylized R with a black background. There are no model name stickers on any of the tubes. The reason I'd like to know the model is it appears the fork may be bent back. There isn't much clearance between the front wheel and the downtube. If I have to order a new fork, I need to know what to order. I paid $40 for the thing so if I have to put a couple hundred bucks in it to get it where I want it I'm not gonna be upset. It's better than I've been able to find and I know it's a decent quality bike so I don't mind investing a little. Thanks in advance for the help
