Hi,

The fork is badly bent and the frame is probably bent too. Notice the rust behind the head tube lugs, that's where it bent in the same accident that bent the fork. If the frame and fork were straight, the bike might have been worth $40 because it is some kind of department store bike and Raleigh probably wishes it never put it's logo on it. Either that or Raleigh of America was a scam company that was not affiliated with the original Raleigh company.

Even if the fork was the only problem with the bike, you couldn't get a "factory" replacement though you could probably get something that would work, but the model and serial number wouldn't help with finding one. Believe me, I am not saying this as a bike snob. Chalk it up as a $40 lesson.

Next time post photos of a potential purchase on the forum before you buy it. Good hunting and good luck.
