Just got home from a great day on the bike! I friend and I hit the Soquel Demo Forest in Santa Cruz. We rode the Braile Trail, and it was awesome. I normally ride alone, so I have to play it conservative. But, today, with a buddy, I had balls of steel! I hit everything... Cleared every log pile, rode the teeter totter, rode a couple small log bridges, and landed every drop I attempted. One was almost 3 feet (pretty big for me, but it felt good). So, with this newfound confidence, I'm gonna keep at it. I'm going bigger every weekend until I can ride and fly "the log drop". I can really feel myself flowing and carrying momentum...anticipating every line and throwing down body english. I'm having a blast!!!
Bummers:
My buddy hyperextended his thumb pretty good on an obstacle. He was able to finish the descent, but barely. Then his seatpost broke! Guess what I did? Used the 'ol tube around the seat trick! Stretched and wrapped the tube around the seat and post, and I'll be damned if it didn't work! So, that was kinda' cool. My bag-o-tricks is getting pretty heavy these days...
Mike.
