I've looked up some threads about this, since the seatpost size on my roadie is pretty uncommon (25.8). People generally advised that you should stick with the correct size, but I have seen some people do ghetto sanding jobs on seatpost that were just the tiniest bit too big (i.e. +0.2).

I haven't tried it myself, since I've been holding out for a correctly sized Dura Ace post, but I've seen more than one ebay listing for 26.0 Dura Ace posts, and it's like they're tempting me.
