I know similar solutions are readily available at hardware stores etc... get 'em off the floor and out of harm's way.
I have three of the lifts shown in the link and ceiling hooks. I prefer the ceiling hooks myself because it is a lot less fiddly. I got the bike lifts for my wife and kids to make it easier for them to get up and down. The lifts are also good for anyone that has really high ceilings where they wouldn't be able to reach hooks. As stated, places like Target and Home Depot are a better place to buy the lifts. I have seen them for $20-25 at those stores.
