Did my 23 miles today. On one section where they are working on the underground utility lines I encountered a road closed sign, turned around, went to the main road, road to the next street over and continued on my route.

After the parking and train ticket it doesn't save any money but it means I drive 60 miles less per day and I get two good bike rides.
May not cost any less money, but you get the exercise benefit from the riding and the train also reduces the stress from driving.
