Running lights is necessity here. For some bizarre reason almost all of the lights in atlanta are on pressure sensors instead of timers(which leads to traffic problems itself.) A cyclist will therefore never get a green light until a car pulls onto the sensor plate. I do however slow down and usually stop for reds.
Same here, but only during certain times of the day. I only run them if it's early morning and there's no way I'm going to get the green. On rides during the rest of the day, there are enough cars on the road so 1) I don't need to worry about waiting endlessly since I know the lights will turn and 2) it would be suicide to run most red lights around here...
