A couple I can think of died because they would not self-moderate and finally enough people went away that revenue to the owners went down and ultimately it were just not financially viable. Others, the posters exercised tolerance to each other and have flourished.
And bikeforums.net certainly has stayed and flourished. Started way back in 1999. Must be doing something right in terms of attracting and keeping people.
