Take a rubber mallet and smack the end of the bar with it. It will cut out the grip using the bar as a template. If you are careful you can just cut out the end of the grip with a razor knife. Loosen the control mounting screws and slide everything in 3/4 inch. My grips/controls were too wide anyway.
