I've mostly used SRAM 9 speed cassettes .... those should work fine... there is the off chance that you have a Campagnolo splined body, but those are completely different and should be obvious to a bike mechanic.. so should burrs on the existing body.. as Jur pointed out, the possibility of wear should be factored in.. did your worn out cassette slide onto a different Shimano donor hub in the shop?
