I think it usually opens in mid May, right? The thaw is going on in full swing, it shouldn't be long. I went to Leavenworth the past two Saturdays and the amount of snow up there is noticeably less from one week to the next. Looks like there have been a lot of small avalanches by Steven's Pass, which is probably the case further north, too.

The North Cascades Highway is a superb ride with unbelievably wonderful scenery.
