Similar issues where I live. The LBS where I bought my bike was quoting two week turnaround to do some repairs/installation work.

Ends up a far more competent LBS on the other side of town told me one week (hey, 50% improvement), but then offered do it overnight if I paid an add'l $20 bucks.

Which I did, and they did a marvelous job.
