My question to you experts is will the spline wear more with the new cassette as I ride hard with it and eventually ruin the splines? I am a bit worried about this as I do ride hard with big gears.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.. if you shear the splines, then it's time for a new hub body

.. I'd imagine the new 9 speed cassette will have the sprockets working on newer metal as the spacing is different than the 8 speed that came stock..
