Well in all fairness, that concern comes from having done so when I was younger. Well, having hurt myself badly, anyway, not a serious break that prevented me from getting home. I would definitely ruin the interior of my car with blood if it happened today. I try to keep things pretty tame if there isn't at least another biker out riding the trails so that at least if something does happen, the other person might come along on their next lap.
