To a degree, yes. I got quotes around from LBS on Ultegra DI2 and it came somewhere between $1500-1700. After all the discount/etc... it will come about roughly $400 cheaper for me to get it from performance. I like LBS but I don't think I get 25% more service from LBS than my LOCAL performance bikes... When I had a crash on my bike, brought it for repair on the shop where I bought my bike from and they slapped me fees on installing tube/tire, etc on top of whatever they charged me with ... It pretty much lost my trust level on LBS mentality... (And this is VERY reputable LBS...)
Quite frankly, they lost a repeat customer who probably will dump $4-7k on next bike for over petty $20 or so they tried to charge which was just... ridiculous. I didn't say anything and walked out.
I still go and pick things up at LBS (such as Shoes, etc which you really need to try on). But for most of parts, it's no different than performance bike for me (short of better bikes).
