If it where just the political stuff... some newer guy posts a picture of his bike what happens, he immediatly gets nasty grams if his drop is not at least 18 inches.... take off the reflectors, looks too big, everything to discourage regular bike riders to ever post again. By the same token, sometimes gentle, goodnatured ribbing is sometimes misinterpreted as an attack and an overreaction ensues. So the same things apply. It is best to let things slide if you can and not get offended. Not always possible, but a good policy to try to follow.
I often tell my wife that if there are two ways to inerpret something I said and one of the ways makes her angry, I meant it the other way.
