I'd do anything you want with it barring the outrage of sticking a threadless stem and brifters on it. 531 triangle and forks — possibly db? Stays — maybe the same.

I am certain it is not 1940's. but I cannot ID the model. I'd say late 70's just off the top of my bony head. Nice lugs. I think that this is an unusual Dawes and possibly limited production clubman competition bike. So not a Galaxy. Not an Atlantis — which are rare enough.

The rims look great. I like the looks of it. And if it rides anthing like the Atlantis I just finished building for a friend, your into a nice machine if you follow through.
