I went on one of the prettiest rides I've done in a long time. I drove up to Speed, IN, for a club ride. Southern Indiana is a better place to ride than Loovul, as there is way less traffic and you get to go rural very quickly.
We rode through the area that is still recovering from the killer tornados of a couple of months ago.
Just off the road it looked like it had been flattened by a FAE:
The crews have been out there cleaning the mess up:
I gave them my best military salute as I rode by. It probably looked pretty dorky, but I meant well.
I tried to hang with the fast group and was able to do so for a few miles but could not sustain the pace. I ended up finishing the ride by myself, getting lost due to a certain cue sheet ambiguity (don't you just hate that?) adding three miles to the route, for a total of 46 for the day and 100 since Friday.
