The strongest you're gonna get with epoxies is about 3000psi strength. The various aluminium solder/brazing rods will get you 30,000psi; 10x stronger join and about 1/2 of the native aluminium material. I've repaired many aluminium parts using the brazing rods. The trick is to blacken the joint with a rich acetylene-only mixture. Then turn on the oxygen and get the joint hot enough so that the soot starts to disappear. The temp is correct now to flow the brazing-rod. Drag it back & forth over the joint to break through the oxide layer and flow over the joint.
