That's a great question! I've always had a spot for sport touring bikes but other will of course be inclined to go for touring, off-road or pure racers. It's hard to give you the advice you need without knowing what your experience is. For sure, I would look for something less then 750cc for economy reasons and less than 600cc if insurance is an issue. Of course, I'm assuming that you have your licence and have been riding for awhile. Anyway, good luck and good riding. Al
