IMO if they NEVER have what I'm looking for AND provide no services that I need, I really don't see any point in going through them and paying more money. I'm OK with paying a bit more to support local businesses, but not if they're not really doing anything useful. Since they're catering to roadies, let the roadies support them.
I went with BD because my LBS could not get the Trek Belleville, not their fault. I tried every Bike Store in in the region. BD had the bike that was most similar in a price range I was willing to pay. I will take it to my LBS for them to go over and assist me with the build. I hated not ordering from them but did not have any other avenue.
