My brother lives in Grand Junction and rides the Grand Mesa. IIRC, he said the climb is 6000ft and has long stretches at 10%. Starting at I-70, the road follows Plateau Ck and the first 5-7 miles are pretty flat. I don't think they ride it in 105 temp either.
