this gets asked all the time; like there is some magic combo of rim/hub that makes the perfect wheel.

much more important than any of the components for a wheel is how they are put together.

go find someone who builds good wheels, give them your budget, and he/she will help you far more than any numbskulls on the interwebz

bottom line: awesome components can be built into a really crappy wheel and even crappy components can make nice wheels in the hands of a skilled professional.

my last bit of advice is stay away from velocity rims because they dent way too easily but i am sure ten or so people will contradict that statement.
