There is a lot of Idiot car drivers out there that will run over you in second. Also there is a bunch of weekend warrors Idiots on the bike trails. Like familys with 2 to 5 kids out there on there bikes riding in all derections, circles and right in front of you if you do not watch it, you have to be carefull. They do not know proper trail rules nor do they care. Had a group of 5 or 6 pull in front of me just yesterday they saw me comeing didn't care then talked crap to me when I asked if I could get by them. Happens more and more everyday here where I live, plus they throw trash all over the place with no respect for the bike trail system.

I understand what you are saying about the rules of the trails, and roads for that matter. My twin girls have just learned to ride, but have been with me all the time. I took them to closed parking lot, set up cones, and showed them what to do in different situations. Then I ran behind them (while pushing my son in jogging strolle)r all the way home (they weren't going fast anyway) and gave guidance to them about if another cyclist is passing, what to say if they're passing, and how to signal. When I got home, my neighbor asked what I had been doing, so I explained, and he said he thought that was sort of wasteful! And yet another person to watch for.....
