Couple hour drive for from LA.
Sherman Pass definitely qualifies as an HC climb.

I did the Spooktacular last year (on my birthday), but the route was cut short due to snow. No Mt. Breckenridge. My avatar was taken from a photo at the Spooktacular, at the point where I reached my 200 vertical mile goal for the year. My buddies had a certificate and a mini-cake in their jersey pockets.
