Bikes: Old Steelies I made, Old Cannondales

Does your front shifter have trim capability ? I think chain rub is mainly due to poorly designed shifters not allowing much trim.
My Campy front shifters have 4 or 5 clicks so I can easily eliminate any rub as I shift up & down the cassette.
