I would need to mark some distances, if only mentally. also have to figure outI'd how I could effectively start the climb with the HR up there.
And don't worry, I won't be contacting my lawyer about any advice I'm receiving
If you are properly warmed up your HR will ramp up within 2 minutes on the 4 minute interval. If you begin the hill at Z5 you may not make it to the top. I attended a coaches workout tonight that included 1 mile group intervals at race pace leading into a 1/4 mile steep hill. It was a race situation where we could attack or sit in then kill the hill with points for placing. I forgot my Power Tap head at home so I didn't have power or HR data on my 5 intervals. I believe that I was peaking out the HR at the top of the steep hill as I almost peed myself at the end of each interval. On the last one, I had to stop and "go" right after the top of the hill. Good thing the girls in our group were far enough behind that I was done before they finished.
