Bikes: 1986 Alan Record Carbonio, 1985 Vitus Plus Carbone 7, 1984 Peugeot PSV, 1972 Line Seeker, 1986(est.) Medici Aerodynamic (Project), 1985(est.) Peugeot PY10FC

Hello Tres,

Thank you for the reply!
Wow!, I knew that this was an early frame, but possibly one of the first original 100 built by Larry Blake himself??! I would have never thought that as the bike is in such good condition for being 40 years old. Kinda gives testament on how good the quality of the build was by Larry.
Interesting too that the list of components you noted that were ususally installed on the frameset pretty much matched the mix of stuff I found on the bike, except for the 1st gen Phil Wood hubs and BB on it.
I still have a suspicion that the bike might have been in trade shows to show off the compnent possibilities for the bike as who would mount Campy NR brake calipers and derailleurs and have Shimano DA brake levers and crankset on the same bike? Who knows, it could be the bike Larry presented to Exxon when he was selling his design to them??......I guess I'm starting to dream too much!

I'm very glad you are around to help me with the bike's history as this information is not available to everyone out there and will be fading away by the next generation if not shared with more people. I feel prviledged to converse with someone that had direct contact with Larry Blake to confirm my theories on the bike's history!
I'll tyr to take additional detail shots of the bike this weekend and send them to you for your reference. I'm very gald I could help a fellow Line Seeker owner restore/preserve his bike with the images.

BTW, Just by coincidence, I just mange to aquire a nice 1986 Alan Carbonio freamset to build up next to the Line Seeker this summer.

Before I read you reply, I would have never guessed that the two frames are acutally cousins because of the Larry Blake connection
The planets seem to lining up nicely with these two project bikes of mine!

Thanks very much again!
