I never (ever) lube threads. You should lube where the nipple comes in contact with the hole in the rim.
Haha, jeez. We'll see how this wheel holds up. I got everything tensioned and true, but there is a slight hop that I couldn't get out. Stripped (at least) two nipples hardcore. I may have to have you send along some spare nipples and spokes when my other rim comes in.
I lubed the threads cuz that's what Sheldon said to do. What's funny is I greased the nipple/rim contact point on my IRO wheelset build, but totally forgot to do it this time. By the time I realized my mistake I had already finished lacing so I didn't want to undo everything I did.
