So yeah, Dia-Compe 500 single-pivots, often printed or imprinted "500G".
I have them on my Atala, and they've grown on me. Cheap, plentiful, and fairly lightweight. I rebuilt them without quick-releases for a cleaner appearance. (I also feel a bit better with the quick release in the lever instead of the caliper, because leaving it open doesn't reduce braking power.)
I think the front-brake cable routing looks *great* if you want to do right-hand-front and use a "wrong side" caliper. The way the cables cross each other in big open curves is sweet.
I agree with Kurt, too: a normal brake can look just fine with right-hand-front. I think his Raleigh Pro's got nice looking cable runs.
