I never said I won, I said I completed the race without being totally blown out the back door. 39th out of 52 finishers, but my guess is the field started with 70+ guys. Attrition, a puncture, a crash, a few guys shelled. But not Uncle Pcad. Not today. And that latter point assures you that this race wasn't all that fast. Big fun being back in the NY Peloton. At least 4-5 more NYC races coming up over the next couple of months.

When I come back to racing after a layoff, I'm always amazed @ how fast it can be. There were a couple of times today I reached for a higher gear, and I was already in the 53 x 11. Slow at the start, but a couple of pretty fast laps (each lap is 3.3 mi) towards the end of that race.

And of course I didn't stroke out (I stopped coumadin earlier this week) and I did not crash.
