Personally I would never suggest drilling anything on a bike. I have not seen one in a long time, but there is a version of these concave washers that a recessed brake nut can fit through.
Now, I'm not suggesting that Bianchigirll can send you some, but these are what you need to mount to the curved brake bridge. Check the LBS or the local co-op, I know my co-op has about 100 of these in a bin.
