Caught a big Cadillac at a signal after being brushed by the passenger mirror a mile back up he road. Had words with the driver who then told me to stop. When I didn't he repeatedly brake checked me. Each time I just went around him. Finally he disappeared up the road and I thought he was gone. He pulled into a parking lot out of sight, got out, and waited for me to come by. I saw him run out into the road and tried to take evasive action, diving in between oncoming traffic to lose him. He grabbed my handlebar and I went down hard at 20 mph and hit the curb. He tried to pull me to my feet and I told him not to touch me. Then I heard sirens. A witness had called 911. Fire engine arrived first, followed by ambulance and sheriff, who placed the assailant under arrest, charged with assault and battery. Civil suit netted me $10,000 and I upgraded my Merlin MTB to full XTR.
