I only was diagnosed with CT in my right wrist, but when my left started having problems, I saved myself the cost of a 2nd visit to the doctor, and went straight to the pharmacy and got a left hand brace. I've been using both ever since.

I would recommend buying them in pairs (2 left, 2 right), that way when one pair gets a little funky, you can wash 'em, and have the dry ones ready to go. I think I've gotten about 6 years out of mine, but it's getting time to replace them (velcro's wearing out).

I'll say that when I was wearing the T-Scope leg brace after getting hit by a car in Oct 2007, combined with the CPAP, I felt a bit like the victim of a borg/alien facehugger encounter.
For some strange reason i only get pain in one wrist at a time, it usually starts in my right and when it goes away the next day it starts in my left. I picked up a reversible wrist brace that has a metal guard in it.

And those CPAP's work wonders though! Ive been through EMT and Paramedics and done hundreds and hundreds of hours of rides on rescues and hospital clinicals. Ive seen those things literally keeping people alive.
