Thanks! I think the wire thing on the BB shell is a pump umbrella.

The copper sleeves are made from 3/4" copper tubing that has been pressed over progressive dies, gradually "growing" it to a final size that is a tight fit on the tape and close tolerance on the handlebar. The process requires repeated softening by heating and quenching. They were polished at one time.

I need to find a crusty French.... wait, I do have a crusty French Ideal saddle..

Stronglight cottered cranks are easy to find..


The stem is pretty light! The bars were well sagged when I found them and have been straightened.
