From what I can see in the photo, it looks to be in very good shape and with some nice upgrades. Great deal at that price. Back in it's day, Shimano's top of the line component group was the XT, followed by the DX then LX. Though the brake design is well outdated, I would think that the DX of the Ariel would be at least close to on par with todays LX group. Some may look at the elevated chain stay and think it is some new inovation in design
