with hydroforming, you can certainly create more complicated shapes than with drawing, which would seem to allow you to tune the stiffness/compliance better in different directions, but it's all theoretical until it is measureable. as far as the purported benefits over carbon, it is semantics (the "kind" of acceleration and kick, will indeed be different in some way, but is it better, or just different, and then is it different in any meaningful way).
