The question is, are forums defined by their subject-matter, or by the identities of those who happen to post in them? If the former, then it is perfectly reasonable for the mods to move stuff into the appropriate location to avoid unnecessary duplication. If the latter, then any topic is appropriate to any forum and the notion that particular forums should have particular characteristics is dead.
Take your choice. But if you want fifty-plus to be a forum in which anything can be discussed, then you have to accept the corollary, namely that there will be debate and disagreement. I don't care, much; but I think the mods have to strike some sort of balance and that in this instance they are doing a decent job.
Somehow, not too many years ago, we got along just fine without mods. It was a positive, supportive forum. Now we have disagreement and bickering constantly. I wonder what changed? Hmmmm . . .
