1. Old BCA/Ross lugged mixte MTB. Surprisingly well-constructed entry-level frame; weighs a ton, but a fantastic rider:
Modifications include the removal of its original flat bars in favor of North Roads, a Sugino Maxy crankset in favor of its generic steel cotterless job, and Tektro dual-pivots in place of Dia-Compe MX1000's. The result? It looks great, rides great, and performs
spectacularly.
2. Centurion Commuter 5 - similar to the Ross, but equipped with cantilever brakes. I took it as an opportunity to make a psuedo-French tourer. RD, freewheel, bars, stem, brakes, and saddle were swapped. I also added the barcon shifter:
3. Raleigh Grand Prix - minor drivetrain upgrades to a very decent entry-level machine. Suntour RD, conservative freewheel, and a cotterless conversion:
