Bikes: See my sig...

Garlatti - Italian equivalent to the Peugeot UO8 that was originally fitted with Campy Tipo high flange hubs and steel wheels, Campy downtube shifters, cheap steel pedals, a steel cottered crank, Campy Valentino dérailleurs, no name headset, and it had some nice Universal brakes and levers on a reasonably nice 3T stem and bar.

Replaced the wheels with custom built Arvon cartridge bearing hubs laced to Araya 1W aero rims, fitted a Stronglight crank and bb with Marchel Berthet pedals, used Suntour Vx S rear derailleur and an NOS Spirt front d that are getting shifted by Simplex retrofriction levers. Saddle is an Ideale Professionale I restored a while back and had been using on a UO8. The replacement headset was a Tange / Kuwahara branded headset which I consider to be as nice as any Campagnolo headset and just as pretty to lok at.

Also have some Binda straps to install...

This bike is running some of the nicest parts I had in my inventory and what was a clunky and heavy bike, albeit a chromed one... is now lighter, faster, smoother, and an absolute joy to ride. The half step and wide range Shimano 5 speed block (14-30) is a joy to use and gives me 9 unique gearings.

The result...
