Thanks for the replies, guys.

The Traitor is my weekend century and weekday evening long ride bike. I put it together for comfort and style and didn't really give a **** about the weight until I got into cyclocross. Now I'd like to lighten it up just a little at a time. And I'm thinking a carbon fork would save half a pound or so. Right now she weighs in at 24.5 lbs. Not too bad, but you feel it on the hills and barriers. My gf works at a bike shop and told me she'd be happy to order a fork for me at +5% over cost.

You're right vestervoid, she's always gonna be heavy. But every little bit helps.

And fietsbob, I know what you're saying about N+1, but right now I've got two bikes and it feels like plenty. (Heresy, I know). I commute on the Traitor from time to time, but mostly save it for either long road rides or long trail rides. Mostly I commute on my ss mtb. I feel invincible on it and can easily hop curbs and get through the 3 construction zones that have already sprung up this year along my relatively easy 10 mile round trip commute.
