I'm surprised how could some(one?) claim that all IGH are not to be shifted under load. Here's direct quote from SRAM website: "i-MOTION 3 is the perfect gear hub for everyday use. Low shifting forces and a high load shiftability keep you safe in city traffic."
My Alfine 8 shifts under load with no problem whatsoever. A Shimano rep told me unequivocally, and more than once, that the Alfine 11 is "designed to be shifted under any circumstance." But, in fact, it fails miserably at this.
