i want to be a top chef
what the fu#$k does this have to do with riding a bike? let me explain.
first off, i'm drunk as fu#$ck. been drinking at work and after work, and tomorrow as i pedal my hungover ass up a hill, i shall get my cumuppance, but for now, allow me to pontificate...
i want to be a bad ass chef. i love food. i own both Buchon AND The French Laundry by Keller, but i'm just some average schmuck hacking at food. i realize i shall never be a real chef, so i shall make do with what i have, and i don't begrudge the folks who are out there realizing their dreams as masters of the food we eat.
all you people who want to "get into mountain biking" and "ride trails, maybe do some downhill" and have $200 bikes because that is all you can afford, and ask for opinions...
your bike sucks. yes, i'm a D I C K, but i'm being nice and telling you straight. i'm not the jackass friend who says you can sing and sends you to be humiliated by simon cowbell on national tv because you can't sing. you can't sing. and your bike sucks. get a real bike or deal with what you have.
nothing personal, but if you cannot afford a decent bike, then either:
A: save up the cash and buy a real bicycle....or
B: deal with your crappy bike and have as much fun as you can.
please don't be butthurt when you want opinions on your sh#tty bike and we tell you the truth. it's not that we are elite or special, we just have different priorities or the ability to frivolously throw cash at our hobbies whereas you are a starving student or family guy and can't. it's just how it is. we aren't better than you or more special, we just have different monetary priorities, and we can spend ridiculous money on our bikes and get good bikes where you cannot. accept it and move the F on.
do you want a "real" mountain bike? spend $2000. if you can't, then either save or shut the F up and get what you can and be happy and don't ask if it's ok and don't be upset when we tell you it's crap.
ok, time to pass out.
(i always seem to be the guy with the most negative offensive posts, but seriously, i'm not that guy, i'm quite positive and respect all humans, fact is, if you came into the shop and asked, i would happily take you out for a ride on some kick ass trails and we would laugh and have fun, whether you are on a bad ass bazillion dollar bike or a cheap piece of crap. it's the rider, not the bike. the bike is a piece of metal that means nothing. the rider is the human that matters, and that is all that matters.
...i just sometimes get drunk and frustrated with the whole human race.....sorry for rambling)
