Bikes: Trek 7100 Multi-Track

it's a '21' speed 3 on the front 7 on the back, also they still make straight up 7 speeds.

@ O.P. @ around the 200 mile mark yo may want to take the rims into your LBS to get the spokes retention-ed. Factory spokes tend to get loose and snap around that point in time no matter what weight you are.

If all goes right they should last you quite a bit longer.

About the bike and bad parts everything on there is "fine" in my opinion with the exception of the grip shifters. It's not that they are going to break, it's just that they get annoying after you start getting tired and change gear on accident..... At least that's what happened to me on my trek 7100..... If you start doing long rides you also may want to grab some gloves. There aren't a lot of positions on those handle bars and your hands are likely to get tired.

I remember my first 50 mile on a hybrid....... bring an energy gel or two and plenty of water.

Good luck
